What are Department of Personnel Classes?

In partnership with the City of Chicago, the Office Human Resources Staff Development Academy (SDA) is offering all full-time City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) employees the opportunity to attend free courses through the City of Chicago's Department of Personnel (DOP). Registration for these courses will be handled by the SDA.

• Application - Complete the DOP application - one per class, and have it signed by your supervisor and the college President (or Vice Chancellor). Refer to the schedule for eligibility, because not all courses are open to all employees. Submit your signed application to your HR Liaison or the SDA and mark the course date on your calendar.
• Enrollment Confirmation - A DOP Training Representative will confirm your enrollment in their class one to two weeks prior to the class. If you do not receive a confirmation of your enrollment, please call the SDA to check on your status.
• Cancellations - Please call the SDA if you will not be able to attend a class. This will allow the trainer to offer your spot to another employee that is on the waiting list. Likewise, the trainer will notify you if a class has been cancelled.
• Attendance - After each class, the City of Chicago DOP will forward attendance records to the SDA who will then forward the records to the college Liaison and the employee's Supervisor. The SDA will maintain all attendance records.
• Continuing Education Credits (CEU) - Credits are through Harold Washington College to participants who successfully complete these classes. Call Dean Phyllis Daniels at (312) 553-5600 for complete details.
