The John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County/Malcolm X College Physician Assistant Program invites applications and nominations for two Tenure Track Faculty and one full-time Faculty Program Director positions with the Physician Assistant Program at Malcolm X College in Chicago, Illinois. The candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technology in the learning process; and; inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed. These tenure track faculty positions include responsibilities for college and community service, scholarly activity and opportunities for clinical practice.            

 

Malcolm X College enrolls over 600 students in its Allied Health and Career Programs.  The City of Chicago boasts easy access to some of the finest recreational, cultural and educational resources in the nation.            

Qualifications

NCCPA certification; eligibility for Illinois licensure; minimum of three years of full-time physician assistant clinical practice experience. Preferred qualifications for candidates include five or more years of clinical experience; prior teaching experience in a PA program, experience in distance education technology; prior experience with curriculum development. Program Director candidates should possess a master’s degree. The candidates must demonstrate ability to multi-task, excellent communication, time management, and organization skills; an ability to work independently and as a team member; and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

 

The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborative leadership skills and computer competency.  The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
