Duties

Under the general direction of the assigned supervisor, the Academic Services Assistant provides general academic support including tutorial services, basic skills assistance and some general office duties for various City Colleges of Chicago academic departments.

  1. Assist students with writing resumes and interviewing.
  2. Provide students with basic skills assistance in the academic area needed.
  3. Provide some clerical support including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, data entry and scheduling appointments.
  4. Perform related duties as required.

All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards

Eligibility

You have to be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours-pre-credit or credit classes. Also, you must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree or certificate.

 

Do you have an overall 3.0 GPA and a 4.0 GPA or above in the subject matter? If so, you’re eligible.  We trust that you are in good standing and have no CCC academic restrictions because if you do, then you need to wait until you’re in good standing to apply.

  • Strong background in math, science, literature, or other assigned academic subject matter.
  • Ability to work in a one-on-one or team environment with flexible work hours as needed for scheduled shifts.
  • Prior experience in tutoring and/or secretarial duties preferred, but not required.

These positions are employment at will.
